FAQ When will tickets go on sale? Tickets to the 2017 People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS are on sale now! Like BASSINTHEGRASS on Facebook to keep up to date with all event information and announcements. When will set times be released? Set times will be released during the week of BASSINTHEGRASS. Sign up to our Facebook page to keep up to date with event news and announcements. The ticket doesn't have my name on it? If someone has purchased your ticket on your behalf, you will still be permitted entry on the basis that it has not been printed and distributed multiple times. We strongly discourage people purchasing tickets from unofficial or unknown third parties for this reason. If you experience difficulties when your ticket is scanned, you will be asked to verify the ticket purchase. Where can I buy a ticket? Tickets can be purchased online only - get yours now at www.bassinthegrass.com.au/buy-tickets Alcohol People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS is a fully licensed event. Alcohol will only be sold to people with the over 18’s wristbands at alcohol booths. Wristbands will be issued upon entry to the event. You are not permitted to bring alcohol into the venue. On arrival, all bags and containers will be fully checked for alcohol. Anyone caught supplying alcohol to minors will face immediate eviction and potential prosecution. Ambush Marketing The Event Organiser does not permit or support any activity that may be determined as ambush marketing. This will include the handing out of flyers, the placement of posters, the distribution of products or any material considered unauthorised. As a consequence the organiser will request the immediate removal of any person or organisation from the areas deemed to be zoned specifically for the event. For more details, see NT Major Event's Ambush Marketing Policy. ATMs ATMs will be located inside the venue for your convenience. Banned Substances Don’t presume that the laws of the real world won’t apply; anyone caught using, holding or dealing illegal substances will be treated the same way as anywhere else. Sniffer dogs have tickets to People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS too! Big Screen Viewing at the Darwin Amphitheatre is spectacular – but what makes it even better is the Big Screen. In the case of an emergency, important messages will be broadcast on the Big Screen. Cameras Still cameras are permitted but no tape recorders, movie or video cameras will be allowed inside the venue. Cloak Room A cloak room is in operation at the event. For a small fee you can check your valuable items in whilst enjoying the event. Clothing Wear sensible shoes and clothes… simple! Avoid wearing jewellery that could potentially harm yourself or others. Please be advised that no patrons will be permitted into Darwin Amphitheatre without appropriate attire including footwear. Any patron attempting to enter the venue without a shirt on will be refused entry. Dry Areas An area of approximately 25 per cent of the venue will be a designated ‘dry area’. This area will be clearly marked and shaded with temporary shade structures in the middle of the venue. Emergency Evacuations Under extreme & unlikely circumstances a building, area or the entire site may be required to be evacuated or cleared. It will be imperative for you to follow all instructions & directions from emergency services, police, fire brigade and/or event security that would be requested of you in such a situation. Entry Entry is at own risk. The Event Organisers right to refuse entry is reserved. First Aid There will be St John Ambulance officers inside the venue to treat people who are genuinely ill or have injured themselves on the day. If you have medication that needs to be refrigerated, this can be arranged by seeing the St John Ambulance Officers. In some cases we may need to clear a path or area and security may need to react quickly. Please follow the directions of St John, Police, Security or event staff if required, as someone’s safety may depend on it – maybe your own. Food and Drinks Food and alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages must not be brought to the venue. Food and beverage vendors will operate inside the Darwin Amphitheatre. Hashtag Share the love, use the hashtag #BASSINTHEGRASS Hydratation Stay hydrated throughout the day. You will be issued with 4 x drink vouchers upon entry – you can exchange these vouchers for Mount Franklin water at the ‘Watering Trough’. Identification Don’t forget your ID! Government issued ID such as Drivers Licence, Proof of Age or Passport must be presented by people over 18 wanting to consume alcohol. Secondary and Tertiary Education ID will not be accepted. If you cannot provide an accepted form of ID, you will be issued with an underage wristband. Infants and Toddlers We strongly discourage parents from bringing babies and toddlers to People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS. The noise and environment is potentially distressing and the facilities are not designed to accommodate infants. Intoxication Don’t turn up drunk as you will be refused entry. Jobs We would love to offer you an amazing job at People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS – but unfortunately opportunities are very limited and are outnumbered by the amount of enquiries that we receive. There are however opportunities to work at BASSINTHEGRASS through Skilled (Gate Staff), RELKDAR contact through Monsoons (Bar Staff) and Security. Leave it at home No glass bottles, no sealed or unsealed drink containers, no chairs, no umbrellas, no sharp objects, no aerosol cans and no illegal substances are to be taken into People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS and will be confiscated upon admittance – so leave it at home. Lost Property Lost property will be handed into the Cloak Room during the event. After the event you can contact Northern Territory Major Events Company on 8999 5256. In the week following the event all lost property will be handed into NT Police, Mitchell Centre. Merchandise Merchandise will be available for purchase at the event, including the official event cap. Eftpos facilities are available. Mosh Pit A punter barrier will be in place with security at the front of the stage. Water may be sprayed on the audience in front of the punter barrier, mobile phones and cameras are at risk. Remember to consider others as well as your own safety, especially in front of the stage. If someone falls down or is in distress please help if you can or let the security know so we can help. It’s meant to be a fun day, let’s make sure it is. Organiser's Office The People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS Office at the event is located at the Main Gate Ticket Office. Parking Parking will be available at Mindil Beach Reserve: Approx 800 vehicles, access off Maria Liveris Drive. Geranium Street Car Park will be CLOSED. Pass Outs If you are under the age of 18 years, pass outs will not be granted. Pass outs will not be issued to anyone after 7pm. Pets Leave them at home. Photography and Live Recordings This event will be covered by Television and the Press. Accordingly, it is possible that you might be photographed individually or in a crowd scene and/or your voice recorded, with or without your knowledge. It is a condition of entry that your image and/or voice may be used for commercial exploitation at the discretion of the taker without any notice, payment or compensation to you. Police Northern Territory Police will be patrolling the venue during People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS. Public Transport The Darwin public bus network operates from the Darwin, Casuarina and Palmerston Interchanges, and services greater Darwin and the rural area. Services to People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS patrons are free, and each person travelling must be holding a valid BASSINTHEGRASS ticket or NORMAL FARES WILL APPLY. For details on getting home, check out our Transport page. Queue Entry to People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS is via Garden Road. To avoid getting stuck in the queue when your favourite artist is about the jump on stage we advise getting in early! Recycling Material collected from People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS will be sent by the Event Partner Transpacific Industries to the Material Recovery Facility in Darwin and supplemented by manual handling to separate all recyclables into their respected categories for recycling or reuse! Safey In the event of a specific issue, live requests will be made. Please take note of and respect these announcements. The Big Screen will also be used to communicate important safety messages during the event. Security Whether it’s entering, leaving or during People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS, you will be required to abide by any reasonable request or command from the Festival Security. Remember that they are primarily there to keep everyone in the venue safe. All bags/containers will be subject to a full search to ensure the safety of patrons. Smoking The Darwin Amphitheatre is a smoke free venue. Smoking areas will be adequately sign posted. Please only smoke in these areas. Surfing in Darwin? Waves are made for surfing – not crowds or people. Activities such as moshing, crowd surfing and stage diving are dangerous to yourself and others. The Event Organiser takes no responsibility for any injuries or damages caused by these activities. Patrons engaging in these or other dangerous activities will be removed from the venue. Taxis A dedicated taxi drop off zone will be set up on the opposite side (the Gardens Oval side) of Gardens Road, exiting onto Gilruth Ave. Traffic Please note that there will be changed traffic conditions around the Darwin Botanic Gardens on Saturday 21 May 2016. Gardens Road from Chin Quan Road to Gilruth Ave will be closed to general traffic. Buses only will enter Gardens Road from Gilruth Ave. UV We have lots of it in Darwin! There will be plenty of shade available at the Darwin Amphitheatre but don’t leave it to chance – heat stress and sunburn is not cool – pack the sunscreen, drink lots of water and wear appropriate clothing. Vegetarians No stress – there will be vegetarian options amongst all the sausage sanga’s and meat pies at People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS. Venue Map A venue map will be available closer to the event to download or save to your phone from the website and Facebook page. Volunteers We would love to offer you an amazing volunteer position at People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS – but unfortunately opportunities are very limited and are outnumbered by the amount of enquiries that we receive. It is mandatory that everyone at People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS wears a wristband which will be given to you at the main gate. This is your proof of rightful entry. Anyone not wearing a wristband will be subject to immediate eviction from the event. There will be two distinctive wristbands issued – one for those under 18 and one for those over the age of 18. Wristbands will be issued upon entry to the event, make sure you have your Government issued ID – if you cannot prove your age, you will not be issued an 18+ wristband. Youth People's Choice BASSINTHEGRASS is an all ages Music Festival, supported by the Northern Territory Government – conducted in a safe and friendly environment at the Darwin Amphitheatre. Minors Due to the nature of the event we strongly discourage infants, toddlers and young children. Minors attending the event who are aged 13 and under must be under the direct supervision of a ticket holding parent or legal guardian at all times. At what age do you require a ticket? Children 13 and under do not require a ticket when accompanied by a parent or guardian holding a ticket. Zero Tolerance The Event Organiser have a Zero Tolerance approach with regard to antisocial, aggressive, dangerous or intimidating behavior, underage drinking, supply of alcohol to minors, consumption and possession of any illicit substances and smoking. Any of these activities will result in immediate eviction from the venue.
