Battle of the School Bands

Marking its 8th year, Battle of the School bands is a competition held in Northern Territory schools, which sees the winners play alongside the biggest names in Australian music at the People’s Choice BASSINTHEGRASS Music Festival.

The Battle of the School Bands competition is open to middle and senior years (7-12) students enrolled in a government or non-government school.

In 2016 Isaac Smalley won the soloist category, and band Gaia took out the best group.

School bands will need to perform two original songs at their allocated school heat, for the opportunity to earn a place in the final.
